The Fratellis
The Fratellis are a Scottish trio from Glasgow in Scotland.
The band members consist of:
Jon Fratelli- guitar and vocals
Baz Fratelli- bass and backing vocals
Mince Fratelli- drums and backing vocals
In the last few months the band have had a new addition to their musical sound thanks to the help of touring keyboardist and guitarist Will.
Despite the Italian to English translation meaning "Brothers" the band are in no way related to each other!
Over the past year (or so) the band have won several awards including the Best European Border Breaking Act in 2008, and the Best British Breakthrough Act BRIT Awards. These awards were without of doubt thanks to the very successful first album, Costello Music, released in September 2006. The band just recently released their second album Here We Stand on June 9th 2008.
Some of the hits the band have had are with Chelsea Dagger - known for its "do do do" chorus, often used in numerous television programmes and football matches. Recently, the band launched their new single Mistress Mabel which reached Number 23 in the UK Top 40 Chart. The single acts as a great link between the previous album and the new one.
The Fratellis have also released a DVD which features a live gig plus extras. It's called Edgy In Brixton and fans were allowed to submit questions which the band kindly answered within the DVD as well as allowing fans to submit their favourite memories of the band.
Definately check this band out. They are class.
