Scouting For Girls are a London based pop group. The band name is a play on the original Scouts handbook Scouting For Boys. This year has seen them make their breakthrough the modern way......myspace. Add to that support and publicity from nearly every major radio station. Probably most notable Scott Mills on Radio 1.

Every year there is one band that produces the perfect pop sound of the moment. Last year it was The Feeling, this year it is Scouting For Girls. They have discovered the way of entrapping people to listen to them. Light,fresh and sweet music. Its music that gets under your skin if you want it to or not.

She's So Lovely their biggest hit to date. In the words of lead singer Roy Stride, it's love-er-lee. When I say that I mean its all frilly, bouncy, simplistic and requires no thought to listen to. In fact its so frilly it could of been produced by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Airplane Song is next and the lyrics speak for this one on there own:

She's a strawberry milkshake,she is as sweet as a peach,but she's ice cold

The actual opening line, what can I say? France give us Camerbert, Holland give us Edam and Britain gives back Scouting for Girls.

I Need A Holiday it is about something we have all done, clock watching as we prepare for a break. Although we didn't feel the need to put it to music. Well more precisely, plonking pianos with no other purpose just to have noise in the background.

In James Bond, Roy tells us about his dreams to be James Bond, he does this by taking every cliché from Bond films and setting them to music. This probably sums up the band, a walking cliché. Just when you think its over, you get the bonus track. Michaela Strachan is an ode to a Rays teenage crush. If this tongue in cheek or not is besides the point. As they probably end up turning themselves into caricatures in this over the top sickly love song.

You all know about Candy floss don't you? Its sweet and sugary and you all like it. On the other hand you know too much is bad for your teeth and will induce vomiting. As a result you will be put off it for a long time. The comparisons are there for you to make.
