This is the latest release from stunning Sheffield duo, Scarlet BLONDE. Bedroom Superstars [Extended Player] is almost the best of their début album re-recorded, with a few rarities thrown in for good measure.

The 9 track release sees the band take on the might that is the US market, and it’s already going down a storm over the pond. Opening boisterously with WYW4? The duo throw the listener in at the deep end with no nonsense. There’s no flimsy riff raff here, this is full blown electronica-rock at it’s blistering best!

A Simple Song is a calmer offering with enchanting and exceptional string accompaniments, played over a melodic and psychedelic backing track, slightly Portishead-esque. Personally, this is my absolute favourite track of theirs.

Bedroom Superstars [Extended Player] contains numerous singles also, such as the brazen Instant Mash, the catchy and tuneful I Don’t Know and the extravagant early single, Bedroom Superstar. The superb softer tune, Safe, which is sang magnificently is also included here.

Overall, this is an excellent collection of songs, which is to be expected really, though I do wish that Electric and Fuse had been included. I sincerely look forward to hearing what else this band have to offer.
