Noisettes are one of the big noises (pause for the collective groan) of this year. I am a fair man so I won’t right them off before I give their second album a fair crack of the whip. A quick glance at the names they have supported gives you the briefest moment of hope that they must be something quite special and not just another over hyped sound alike band.

I am not going to mess about with this review trying to fill a word count I am going to get straight to the point! After listening to the album in its entirety I have to admit I am a tad confused I haven’t got the foggiest what direction Wild Young Hearts was trying to go in, by the end of the record they are left in the middle of a cornfield with a compass and not a clue how to get back to where they started!

Taking songs individually you could just about give them some credit but bring them together and it becomes a patchwork quilt with highly clashing offensive colours! When you kick off an album with a ballad that could have easily come Noah Jones like Sometimes the last thing I am expecting is for it to swing into an all out shouting mirrorball inclusive disco with Don't Upset The Rhythm. By now you may realise I have a slight problem with the Noisettes in general. Jekyll and Hyde of the music industry and although that is a cracking story the musical version is severely disturbing!

Before I am finally set free from the grasp of this I am slung into 60’s Avenue Duffy style with Never Forget You, enough already! Seriously you can only squeeze so much into a record and everyone knows if you over season a dish you ruin the taste, a lesson perhaps?
