The title track, Like A Prayer, is one of Madonna's most recognised tracks ever & the controversial video made it even more notorious. With a gospel choir for backing it has very spiritual sound & a top vocal performance by Madonna, with the soaring rhythms it is surly one of the greatest pop records of all time. What a way to start the album!

Love Song is a strange track with input from Prince; you can tell its one of his tracks, but it is not very good at all,feeling very messy & unfinished. Till Death Do Us Part is a track about Madonna's split from her husband, even though it has a up-beat feel it interchanges form this to a darker feel, but it just sounds rushed which is a pity as there are some nice elements to the track. Promise To Try includes lyrics to help her move on from the death of her mother some twenty years earlier. It is a track with a very sombre tone & honest lyrics. Cherish gets the juices flowing again with its fresh & passionate feel, a pure love song.

Dear Jessie is basically a children's story & has a Christmas feel. Oh Father features a stunning vocal performance & powerful music that hits all the right bases for a power balled to be a success. Keep It Together has a latinesque sound,;it has the music but the lyrics are not up to scratch. Spanish Eyes is a better effort at the Spanish/Latino sound though. Act Of Contrition is just a noisy filler track, Why ?

This is one of Madonna's most successful albums. With honest & emotional tracks this album is let down by a few tracks which seem rushed & unfinished.
