On the 16th of August 1958 in Bay City, (Michigan) a girl was born that would one day simply redefine the music industry forever, the girls name was Madonna Louise Ciccone.

In 1977 Madonna decided to start a fresh in New York,
things didn't start off well, with no money & nowhere to live at times, things only started to happen in 1979 when on a world tour with a disco artiest, she met with Dan Gilroy who together would form the band 'The Breakfast Club'
but after a short time Madonna left & formed a new band 'Emmy' where she & boyfriend Stephen Bray wrote & produced there own tracks & music, they would soon catch the attention of record producer Mark Kamins which lead on to a deal with Sire Records in 1982.

The first release was Everybody (6th October 1982) which reached number three on the Dance/Club chart but didn't make it into the Billboard Hot 100, but with continuing entries in the Dance/Club chart Sire Records finaly decided to give the green light for a album.

The self titled album released 27th July 1983 & received warm reviews & with the help of producer John "Jellybean" Benitez on the track 'Holiday' still one of Madonna's best known tracks, she was on the path to super-stardom.

In 1989 the video to the track 'Like a Prayer' would cause a controversy of epic proportions, complete with burning crosses, her making out with a black Jesus, but people just didn't seem to get that it was a way to denounce racism.

The 90's would continue the controversy with the sex theme encompassing everything from music to books, however in 1996 Madonna stared in Evita, which she would ultimately win a Academy Award for her song 'You Must Love Me' in 1998 the album 'Ray of Light' would get a whole new audience with a more adventurous & electronic feel, it would be cited as the best album since 'Like a Prayer',with every new album changing to a new direction & by constantly reinventing herself to stay one step ahead of everyone else, there is still more to come from The Queen Of Pop.

Madonna has recently released the title of her new album which will be Hard Candy. The album is expected to be released on the 28th April in Europe.
