Rock 'N' Roll Jesus is the eleventh studio album from Kid Rock, which begs the question why is he best known by most ,in England, for his short marriage to Pamela Anderson? His music is described as genre hopping country. We shall have to wait and see.

All Summer Long is his most successful release in Britain therefore it stood the album in good stead. Yes, we know it owes a lot to Lynard Skynard but that doesn’t detract from the fact it is a sing along success and gives me high hopes for what is to come. This could have been where my problems started.

I decided to write this review early in the morning, I was soon to discover nightmares happened during the day too.

I refer back to the description of "genre hopping", it soon becomes apparent that means confused and messy. If you are good at putting together flat pack furniture wouldn’t then believe you could paint the Mona Lisa, would you? Mr Rock obviously is a talented country singer but alas the only rapping he should do is Christmas presents! (Yes I know they are two different words, just go with it).

By far the highlight of this album is Mr Rock's childish ranting about the former Mrs Rock; Half Your Age is 4 minutes of him telling Ms Anderson how much better his life is now, who is he trying to convince? It isn’t the only slightly amusing moment on the record, Amen sees the introduction to Reverend Rock! I find it difficult taking sermons from him but he is Rock N Roll Jesus, apparently.

I will be fair to him, at the rare times were he does straight down the line country it is of a more acceptable standard, but is this record going to make everyone add them to their list of favourite artists? Am I going to get 6 numbers on the lottery? I thought not.

Rating 5/10 – If he is Rock N Roll Jesus I am going to start practising another religion.
