In Between Dreams was the third album by singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, however it was the first time we'd heard from him in the UK. Unknowingly some of the British public had already taken him to their hearts, as tracks were all over American teen dramas like a rash, quite appropriately because it fits so well.

Looking at the track listing, you may have only heard of Better Together a song that displays the full extent of the message of this album quite perfectly, however there are some other real gems on this album. Sitting, Waiting, Wishing is by far my favourite song of his career and is a welcoming tune that could be played over and over, the relevance to certain situations we all find ourselves in at times is quite striking.

The only one track I really seem to dislike, unlike all his other albums, is Belle for some reason its like nails on a chalk board to me! It sounds so wrong, it doesn’t fit with the sounds of waves lapping against the shores – the sound I associate with Jack Johnson.

Now I've heard Johnson's other offerings I can see this album has a more mature sound. If you haven't heard any of his music before, this is great introduction to the relaxing sound of Hawaii.
